The Tarim Ethane to Ethylene Project is a significant undertaking in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is a joint venture between Dushanzi Petrochemical and PetroChina, and is considered a national ethane cracking to ethylene demonstration project by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The project began on June 19, 2019, and was completed and handed over on July 17. The total investment in the project is 8.04 billion yuan, and it covers an area of 2,216 mu. The project comprises three central production units: 600,000 tons/year of ethylene, 300,000 tons/year of high-density polyethylene, and 300,000 tons/year of full-density polyethylene, as well as public works and auxiliary systems.
This project is to treat ethylene waste alkali liquor, using high-efficiency dissolved air flotation pretreatment to remove oil substances entrained in the waste alkali liquor.
